The primary goal of the Basic 32 Wildland Firefighter Course is to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to operate safely and effectively as a member of a wildland firefighting crew. This course includes online components ICS-100, IS-700.B, S-110, S-130, S-190, L-180. and a two days of skills training and testing.
Includes optional Work Capacity Test (WCT - "pack test").

Richard Carvalho, a retired Fire Captain, devoted 30 years to the fire service. His career included roles as a USFS wildland firefighter, Fire Appartus Engineer with Cal Fire / Placer County Fire, and Fire Captain with East Contra Costa Fire. With expertise in engine operations, helitack, and fire boat operations, he ensured operational readiness and safety. As a fire service instructor since 1998, Richard shared his knowledge, shaping the next generation of firefighters.
